Dental Cleanings

Routine dental cleanings and checkups are important in maintaining your oral health. Patients of all ages, including children, should visit our office at least twice a year. During a routine checkup, our hygienist will clean your teeth to remove bacteria, plaque, and tartar that can cause decay. In addition, Dr. Chow will examine your teeth, looking for cavities, the early symptoms of gum disease, and signs of oral cancer.

Deep Cleanings

Gum disease can develop when pockets of bacteria accumulate in your soft tissues. If you suffer from moderate periodontitis, a deep cleaning is typically the most appropriate treatment. Also known as scaling and root planing, a deep cleaning session will eliminate bacterial pockets, and your dental roots will be smoothed. Rough patches can trap bacteria, and this procedure will prevent the microbes from returning.

Oral Surgery

Dr. Matthew Chow takes a conservative approach to dentistry, and will always try to save damaged teeth. However, if your tooth is severely damaged, extraction may be the only option. Dr. Chow performs many types of extractions, including the removal of wisdom teeth.

Teeth Whitening

In-office teeth whitening is an effective way to brighten your smile. An in-office treatment typically takes one hour. During a teeth whitening session, our hygienist will coat your teeth in whitening gel, activating the material with a uniquely designed light. Take-home Zoom!® whitening treatment is another option, and involves custom-made trays and professional grade whitening gel. This system can yield comparable results to in-office treatment, though it will usually take about two-three weeks to complete.

Porcelain Veneers

Porcelain veneer being placed on a patient's tooth.

If you want to correct surface aesthetic flaws or reshape your teeth, porcelain veneers can be a simple, effective choice. When placing a veneer, Dr. Chow will carefully remove a small layer of your tooth enamel. This process makes room for the veneer, and does not weaken your tooth. Our lab will then use impressions to create natural-looking veneers from durable, sparkling porcelain.

Gum Contouring

Gum contouring is a conservative cosmetic treatment that can enhance your overall look. If excess gum tissue negatively affects the look of your smile, or if your gum line is uneven, Dr. Chow can remove a small layer of tissue. This treatment can give you a smile that matches your facial proportions, and one that you are excited to show off.

Dental Bonding

Chipped tooth.

Dental bonding can have both cosmetic and functional benefits. If you have minor structural damage, such as small chips or cracked teeth, Dr. Chow can conceal these flaws with tooth-colored composite resin. Dental bonding is comparable to veneers, but it does not require any tooth preparation. Dr. Chow can also use dental bonding to treat small to moderately sized cavities.

A smile makeover consists of multiple cosmetic treatments in a multi-stage process. Dr. Chow will create a one-of-a-kind treatment plan to address your unique aesthetic goals. He will also consider your health needs, jaw alignment, and the force of your bite. Dr. Chow encourages you to participate in the planning process so that you can achieve your dream smile.

Fillings

Tooth-colored filling inside of a tooth.

Fillings are the most common treatment for cavities. However, instead of traditional silver amalgam, which can eventually show through your teeth, Dr. Chow uses tooth-colored composite. He will perform a process similar to the dental bonding procedure, lightly etching the inside of your tooth for greater adherence. Composite resin will blend nicely with your tooth, and requires less tooth preparation than silver amalgam fillings.

Dental Crowns

Dental Crowns resting on a black surface.

Crowns can repair severely damaged teeth and, in some cases, conceal cosmetic blemishes. A crown will fit completely over your tooth, and will be custom-designed to match your smile. Dr. Chow offers same-day crowns made with advanced E4D technology. The process involves use of a digital scanner to take images of your teeth. Then our in-office fabrication system creates a porcelain crown, in about one hour.

Dental Bridges

A dental bridge can replace one or more missing teeth, restoring both your appearance and oral function. We offer traditional bridges, which will attach to your healthy teeth with crowns. Often, Dr. Chow can create same-day bridges with E4D technology. Working with a trusted oral surgeon, he can also provide implant-supported bridges. These restorations are permanent and will never move out of place.

Dental implants can permanently replace missing teeth. They offer numerous benefits for your appearance, dental function, and oral health. Your implant-supported crown, bridge, or denture will never slip out of place. It will also look more natural since it will rest on top of your gum line. The implants will also prevent jawbone atrophy, additional tooth loss, and changes in facial proportions. We have provided answers to implant FAQs and can address additional concerns at our office.
